Use Public Service Announcements During CTE Month
February not only means celebrating the importance of Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) for Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month, but also spreading the word about DECA through our Advocacy Campaign as well!
Using public service announcements (PSAs) is a great way to begin the conversation about the wonderful work DECA and countless other career and technical education programs. You can share PSAs in your community through your local television or radio station or even use them in your school’s own closed-circuit station.
DECA Inc. has created both a television and radio public service announcement for you to use as a promotional tool for DECA programs in your area. Many news outlets provide opportunities for non-profit organizations to run public service announcements free of charge. Take this opportunity and share the DECA message in your town!
Or let your creativity flow and produce your own PSA! Use DECA’s mission statement and guiding principles to reinforce your message supporting the importance of DECA. If you are having trouble creating message content, here is a sample statement you could consider:
DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management. DECA’s Comprehensive Learning Program integrates into classroom instruction, applies learning, connects to business and promotes competition. As a result, DECA prepares the next generation to be academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leaders.
