DECA Announces Finish Line Challenge Finalists

DECA Inc. has announced the top three finalists in the fourth annual Finish Line Challenge. The finalists are:

  • Sarah Burgett, Nate Jensen, and Nikki Jimenez from Herriman High School in Herriman, Utah
  • Brandon Sell and Joel Varghese from Lakeville South High School in Lakeville, Minn.
  • Joan Hong from Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, Calif.

Participants in this challenge assisted Finish Line by analyzing the company’s omni-channel strategy (providing a consistent and premium customer experience through the many ways in which the customer shops). This analysis included researching the customer experience through mobile technology, the Internet, social media, offline media and in-store experiences.

Participants developed recommendations based on this research and then created their own YouTube video to present their findings. Finish Line executives reviewed participants’ videos and named the top three finalists.

These three final teams will travel to the Finish Line corporate headquarters in Indianapolis, Ind., in late February. The teams will meet Finish Line executives to present their research findings and recommendations for how Finish Line can improve their current strategies.

One overall winning team will be awarded an expense-paid trip to DECA’s International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, Calif. this April.

Congratulations to all the finalists, and good luck as they embark on their final journey of the Finish Line Challenge!
