DECA National President Update, January 2013

President’s Note

As I reflect on everything that’s happened in 2012, my mind is a little blown.  Going into my fourth year as a DECA member, a lot has changed. DECA continues to stay ahead of the game as we use our innovation to drive our organization’s mission forward and take members to the next level. There is nothing cooler to be a part of than working behind the scenes to make such exciting things happen. But the best is really yet to come as we continue to THRIVE as members, competitors and leaders, and for those who work the hardest, there are sensational incentives and opportunities that YOU could be a part of.

DECA's scholarship program provides over $300,000 in scholarships to DECA members at the International Career Development Conference (ICDC) every year. Many corporate partners provide merit-based scholarships through the DECA Scholarship Program. Apply by January 18 at:

Strategic Planning Survey

Take a few minutes to take DECA's 8-question strategic planning survey to help shape the direction our organization takes in the coming years. Please pass this survey along to your association and chapter members to make sure our voices as students are heard!

The Movement

Each association president should have received an email about chapters that fundraised for MDA in the 2011-2012 school year. Please assist us in contacting these chapters about joining The Movement this year. Your regional vice presidents will be reaching out in a phone call or Google+ Hangout to assist you in chapter involvement with this program. Check out to see how your association is doing.
