Trendspot in the DECA/FIDM Challenge

Are you interested in fashion, color schemes, and trends?  Do you think you have what it takes to create a look for upcoming fashion seasons?  If so, you should participate in the FIDM Challenge to showcase your creativity and fashion talents.  Find all of the details at http://www.deca.org/events/fidmchallenge/.

Participants in the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising (FIDM) Challenge will translate a seasonal fashion trend into a “look” depicting the researched fashion forecast.

First, participants in the FIDM Challenge will forecast a fashion trend for Back to School 2013.

Second, participants will put together or create an outfit depicting this up and coming trend. The cost of materials in updating or creating “the look” should not exceed $20. All wearable materials may be used and does not have to be gender specific.

Third, participants must explain why, based on their research, they believe in their trend forecast. Challenge participants will make presentations to FIDM executives and instructors via videos posted on YouTube.

Interested chapters must fully complete and submit the official registration form no later than February 8, 2013 to be eligible for awards. Late entries will not be accepted.

FIDM will evaluate all submitted video presentations and select the top three overall teams. From the final three videos, an overall winning team will be selected. The trend/look of the grand prize winning team will be shown at the International Career Development Conference in Anaheim, California.
