5 Snapchat Tips for Your Chapter
Social media is big in our world today and Snapchat is a great way to connect with your members.
Here are a few tips to maximize your views.
1. Be Consistent
Create a schedule of how often you want snaps to post to your story and stick to it. Consistency is very important and your followers will want a routine update. Avoid going long periods of time without putting up any content because you will quickly lose relevancy.
2. Offer Exclusive Content
Give people a reason to add you on Snapchat. Try adding snaps of events happening, members and what they have been up to, and contests exclusively for Snapchat followers. People love giveaways and being recognized so throw those in every once in a while to keep them engaged.
3. Be Entertaining + Relatable
Once you have gained a following on Snapchat, give people a reason to keep watching your Snapchat stories. Be genuine about your posts and do not overload people with promotions for meetings or conferences. It is fine to talk about them but just do not over do it. Change up the posts you add to your story so it is not always photos of what DECA members are doing or meeting and event reminders. Inspirational quotes, jokes, riddles, and tips are a fun way to spruce up your story as well.
4. Watch the Length
Snapchat now allows you to post stories greater than the original 10 seconds but do not drag it on excessively. If your story has 30 pieces to it at any given time, you may want to rethink your plan for posting. Many people do not want to sit through a super long story and this can result in a loss of views.
We all love fun clever captions so utilize the ability to add captions. However, you should avoid very lengthy captions. Keep is short, sweet, and to the point.
