4 Tips for a Stress-Free Year

Being involved in extracurricular activities, such as DECA, can be tiring at times.

It is very important that you stay organized and focused on what’s most important.

Here are a few tips to help you organize and declutter your life this summer to prepare for the next school year!

 1. Use a Planner

I cannot stress this enough. Many stores sell simple planners that you can decorate on your own and personalize. Write down your doctor appointments, DECA chapter meetings, and competition conference dates in your planner. Also be sure to write down all of your homework and project deadlines. I suggest purchasing a planner that has both a weekly and a monthly spread.

2. Make To-Do Lists

Organize your homework and project steps in to-do lists. Make your list in order from most-important to least-important. This will keep you from putting off the most-important tasks.

3. Meal Prep

Many of us will be the first to admit that we struggle with finding healthy meals to eat, especially during the busy school year. Every Sunday, meal prep and make a grocery shopping list for foods that you will need throughout the week. You can even write down your meals in your planner. If your parents typically cook dinner, plan your breakfast, lunch, and snacks.

4. Keep a Clean Room

Summer is the perfect time to declutter your room. Not only do you need to declutter your room, but you also need to keep it decluttered. A clean room will keep your home life organized.
