While competitors come from across the globe to compete at ICDC, it is extremely important that they be dresses professionally while doing so.

Inappropriate ties or mismatched color combinations can ruin your judge’s first impression of you!

Here are some things to avoid when prepping for your DECA conference:

  1. Neon/outlandish tie or shirt patterns
  2. Wearing a belt that does not match your shoes (or vice versa)
  3. Not matching with your partner (if applicable)
  4. Most importantly, wearing anything BLACK with the NAVY DECA blazer!

As long as you avoid these when getting dressed for competition, your attire should work in your favor and impress your judge! Remember that a first impression will affect their attitude throughout your presentation, so professional business attire is important.
