DECA's 2017 Emerging Leader Honor Award Recipients

This year, over 400 DECA members have been recognized for the Emerging Leader Honor Award.

This award recognizes DECA high school seniors studying marketing, finance, hospitality, and management while also being academically prepared, community oriented, professionally responsible, experienced leader through their participation in DECA.

To be recognized for this award, the DECA member must participate in various activities such as being an officer, completing community service project, and competing at a DECA conference (among other experiences) that fulfill different categories resulting in a well-rounded emerging leader.

This emerging leader must have completed a marketing, business management, entrepreneurship, finance or hospitality and tourism class and have a 3.2 cumulative GPA for the academic portion of the award. The requirements for this award also include approval from the member’s advisor, counselor, principal and parents.
