Fort Hays Collegiate DECA Members Prepare for Business Invitational with Case Studies and Mock Events

Fort Hays State University Collegiate DECA hosted the 2nd Annual Business Invitational on Friday, February 26.

On Tuesday February 23, chapter members met for their weekly meeting, and prepared for the competition by reviewing case studies and completing mock events.

The workshop gave new members the opportunity to learn more about the different types of event categories, as well as gain insight as to what they should expect from the Business Invitational.

It also was beneficial for returning members to sharpen their skills and improve their chances of placing at the Business Invitational, as well as at the 2016 Collegiate DECA International Career Development Conference this April in Washington, D.C.

This year's invitational hosted four schools, one more than the previous year's competition. The schools in attendance were Ottawa University, Butler Community College, and Cowley County Community College.

In addition, several non-member FHSU students competed. The event itself helped prepare members who plan on traveling to D.C. to compete at ICDC this April.
